I’m quite excited to announce that the community campaign for 2026 is live! Tigrus will fall! Over October and November 2026, the community is encouraged to enter in their results for battles, whether their own or from the book, to determine the fate of Tigrus’ relics.
You can read the supplement here: https://wh35k.com/fall-of-tigrus/
We will also be hosting our annual event on the weekend of the 24th October at Saltire Games in Dundee, as we did last year. Tickets are still available here: You can still get tickets for our event here: https://www.saltiregames.co.uk/events/35k-fall-of-tigrus
This book was quite a challenge to do for a number of reasons, a lot of (good but time consuming) things happening in my personal life and also the campaign being difficult to write. It is a great way to kick off the development of Book II beyond what was there prior, a book more focused on the Moirae Schism and the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Tigrus was an obvious choice for the annual campaign. It’s a canonical event in M35, the loss of an entire forge world to the Orks, yet one with next to no lore written about it. It’s very different to Meigor VI in that we know what happens. So what are we fighting over? Relics! We know that the Tigrus vanquisher cannon pattern was lost alongside other relics. So this allows Imperial players to fight a long losing campaign while also having something to fight for.
It was also a chance to explore two other factions. I’d developed the Orks a lot over this year, trying to add a bit more room for customisation and flavour lined to the first and second edition books. Arrgard the Defiler is pretty much a throwaway character, one whose presence creates more character for the setting.
So too is the inclusion of the Ultramarines important. The Ultramarines canonically sit out most of the Interregnum. I wanted to explain this in a way that made sense, that the defence of Ultramar had become their priority in the face of rebellion and invasion. I combined this with a weak chapter master, unable to control the chapter’s divided loyalties, so Ultramarine players can still take part in the wider fighting in the setting.
This book was a pretty big challenge for me, partly because I had world-built myself into a corner. It turned out that adjusting the fundamentals of the campaign (the planet map) made writing the campaign significantly easier!
I’ve published the campaign book online. Everyone in the community is welcome to take part in the campaign however they like throughout October and November. Simply share your games, armies, and everything else you’ve done on Discord and/or Reddit!
